An optical density of 3.4 Dmax allows the Perfection V500 Photo to record a wide range of tones and deliver a high level of detail in both highlight and shadow areas. The new scanner has 12 lines of photosites with micro lenses compared with six lines on previous models, giving it a significant speed advantage. This ensures an optimum amount of light is captured during the scanning process, improving image reproduction. The new scanner’s scanning head combines a 6400dpi Matrix CCD and on-chip Micro Lens Technology. The white light LED technology is environmentally friendly, as the ReadyScan LEDs contain no mercury, have low power consumption and heat dissipation and virtually no warm up time.
